Overview or Purpose

The Varanasi Development Authority has undertaken a significant initiative to address the issue of water logging during the rainy season in Lalpur Housing Scheme's Phase-I, Phase-II, and Phase-III. Despite the initial development of stormwater drainage systems in these colonies, partial damage has rendered them insufficient in effectively managing excess water during heavy rainfall. To mitigate this challenge and ensure the well-being of the scheme's allottees, the Authority has commenced the construction of KC drain/RCC drain in all three schemes, tailored to meet the specific requirements of each site. These drains are engineered to efficiently channel rainwater away from residential areas, preventing inundation and associated damages. The implementation of KC drain/RCC drain infrastructure represents a proactive approach by the Varanasi Development Authority to enhance the resilience of Lalpur Housing Scheme against adverse weather conditions.
