Overview or Purpose
The Varanasi Development Authority (VDA), in collaboration with the Railway Board, North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), and Banaras Locomotive Works (B.L.W.), has launched a project to beautify the city with 61 sculptures at key locations. So far, 25 sculptures have been installed, with more planned for the future. The project also includes landscaping, tree planting, attractive lighting, and signage to enhance the spaces. These sculptures reflect Varanasi's cultural, historical, and spiritual heritage, showcasing local traditions and art forms. The project aims to strengthen the city’s cultural identity while promoting tourism, providing locals and visitors with a deeper connection to the city’s artistic legacy. With a total cost of ₹962.62 lakh, this initiative will leave a lasting impact on the city, blending tradition with modern urban development to elevate Varanasi’s visual appeal and cultural significance.
